Product Description

Being offered today is a VERY RARE and HIGH GRADE example of a WORLD WAR II – 1945 D (Denver) Jefferson Nickel. This Jefferson Nickel is graded by NGC in Mint State 66.

This is a rare and spectacular coin.

During World War II, the US Mint produced special "war nickels" made with a silver alloy to conserve nickel for the war effort. These nickels, minted from 1942 to 1945, contain 35% silver, 56% copper, and 9% manganese. They are easily identifiable by a large mintmark (P, D, or S) above the Monticello on the reverse side.

The coin is displaying a nice patina on the front a back. This coin is an unusually nice high-end survivor with a sharp strike.

This rare 1945 D Jefferson nickel is a true gem for any collector. With its impeccable MS 66 grade certified by NGC is a must-have for those who appreciate the value of rare coins. The strike on this Nickel showcases the intricate details of the design, making it a beautiful addition to any collection.

The U.S. Mint replaced the Buffalo Nickel design with a new design in 1938, the Jefferson Nickel. The Jefferson Nickel has been produced ever since and is still in production today.

NGC provides an accurate, consistent, and impartial assessment of authenticity backed by the comprehensive NGC Guaranty, which protects buyers and sellers!
