The front features Cleopatra’s diademed and draped bust facing right, her hair tied in a bun / The back shows an eagle standing left on a thunderbolt; inscription KLEOPATRA BASILEWS around, with a double cornucopia and mark of value Π to the right. Coin reference: Svoronos 1871; SNG Copenhagen 419–21 for type. Deep olive-green patina with a striking portrait. Measures 26mm, weighs 17.63g. Graded Near VF. Provenance: Ex Classical Numismatic Group (CNG). *** This is one of the few contemporary coins that likely shows Cleopatra as she truly appeared—powerful, unfiltered, and politically savvy. A rare and honest portrait of the last ruler of Ptolemaic Egypt.
