Early 19th Century European Flintlock Conversion Pistol
Product Description
A wonderful early 19th Century European flintlock pistol converted to percussion in the mid 1800's. This early 19th century piece has not been narrowed down to a specific country of origin, but is likely from Germany or France. Made with a full walnut stock which shows a repaired split at the front, between the barrel and ramrod. It also has some chipped/splinted pieces at the grip underneath the brass furniture. Stock and barrel both show an “S” stamp marking with the left side of the barrel containing a “902” stamp. All metal parts are in excellent condition with the wood taking the brunt of the wear. Hammer holds at cock, but the trigger has trouble engaging. Total pistol length 13 1/2”. Pistol does not have a stand, a temporary acrylic block was used for some of the photography only.
