The front depicts the laureate head of Constantine facing right, Latin inscription CONSTANTINVS AVG around / The back depicts a Roman castle camp-gate with two turrets and a star above, Latin inscription PROVIDENTIAE AVGG; Mintmark: SMANT = Antioch mint below. Deep coppery to black patina, choice detail! Reference: RIC VII 461 for type. Coin diameter 19 mm, slabbed and graded Extremely Fine by NGC! Archival slab measures 3.125" x 2.125" x 0.375”. Provenance: Ex De Père, WI collection.
