A rare Roman military/legionary bronze handle to a money chest, circa 1st-3rd century CE. It measures 4.25” across, and is exceptionally well-preserved, with the two original flattened bronze pins still in place, the wooden chest decomposed and lost to history, as well as its contents. Nicely decorated terminals, and with a smooth green patina overall.
