Product Description
An excellent Italo-Corinthian tall pottery alabastron with painted band decoration, 6th century BC. Piriform in shape, with slender neck, broad lip with loop handle below, characteristic flat bottom. The vessel is adorned with hues of maroon, brown, and black on a cream-colored ground, the body decorated with multiple horizontal bands. H: 7 3/8". Ex. Sussex, UK Private collection; ex Helios Gallery, UK, purchased in 2009.
